yes BUT

there is supposed to be a beta weekend starting in MARCH (end thereof) which is BEFORE the pre-order date of april 10....so if you can't preorder until april 10th and the weekend for the next beta is in march.........

Also wanted to say that the Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill should definitely have been made into some sort of summoning stone type item. I imagine it would only be useful until you start unlocking Elites for your character. Which then leaves you paying more for just the miniature, since all the other items disappear.

I'll definitely buy the Digital Deluxe copy - not that fussed about the additional items you get from the Collector's Edition though.

there only 4 weekends b4 the 10th...this weekend...which doesnt have one...so 3 possible 24th-25th, 31th-1st, and the 7th-8th. so in march 2 chances maybe....I dont exactly remember the quote....but i think it was along the lines of "beta march-april"... so in turn going by historical timelines the latter being more plausible...ie i feel that betas wont start till after the 10th

My interpretation is that what over 1m signed up for was a beta. I imagine that Anet will select a certain number of players to test general gameplay, report bugs etc. I don't think it will be limited to any weekend.

The weekend betas will probably have a much larger participation and will stress test server balancing etc.

Two separate but related processes.

anet says the next beta will be the end of march (check out the other beta thread below this one), that is BEFORE april 10th when you will be able to pre-order and get into the rest of the betas is what I am saying.
also they mention other betas and that signing up for that one (the one million people one) gets you signed up--you wont need to sign up again, also that you are not guarenteed a spot in them all if you got into one:

No, admission into one Beta Event does not guarantee admission into subsequent Beta Events.

so signing up for the preorder WILL get you into all the other betas, but not the one at the end of march. (check out the faq for gw2 I linked on the other thread

Thank you Essence for the link to the video (i dont use facebook myself)... sadly i found this clip disappointing (half of it is an anet employee telling you the same thing as the text in the email; the rest was... just short). I have seen better gw2 videos.
